Problem Database Errors

Should we report problem errors in this forum? Over the past couple weeks I have found two errors; which I noted in the problem comments.

Are you sure they are errors? I checked your most recent comment, problem #6791:

"J_D_C_ Dec 25, 2025

This is game is a draw. Program evaluates the ending position as even."

I don’t know what program you used, but Kingsrow shows the final position of the problem as clearly winning, with the search reaching the endgame databases.

You are correct. The problem is a win in the ending and I have removed my note. The issue with that problem is that the position where the problem starts was never actually reached in the game that is referenced. The problem should have started one move earlier, Asa played 22-17 instead of the 20-16 where the problem started.

Problem #11387 incorrectly gives 22-18 as a draw for first move. Both 22-18 and 9-5 win and the draw continuation it gives is the same run up as the win continuation except the first two moves are swapped.
Win Continuation (9-5 played at first move):

Draw Continuation (22-18 played at first move):

Problem #1972: This problem is correctly shown as a white win, but in one of the run ups the database plays a losing move for white. White wins the game by playing 32-28, but instead the database shows 23-18 which is a red win.

Problem #5983 gives 21-17 as the first move as a draw. Kingsrow evaluates this move to win. Below is a diagram of the ending position that the problem leaves as a draw (white to play). My kingsrow with an 8 piece database evalutes this position as -1082.
